Jim Hanks (born June 15, 1961) is an American actor, filmmaker, and the youngest brother of Tom Hanks. He often substitutes for Tom whenever he is not available. One example is him voicing the Conductor, the Hobo, Santa Claus, and the Ebenezer Scrooge puppet in The Polar Express: The Video Game, all of whom were voiced by Tom in the film. This is the only occasion in which he voices characters in a video game that are not Woody from the Toy Story franchise. Scenes from the film that are featured in the game keep the original lines recorded by Tom.
Trivia[]
- Jim did not voice Hero Boy's father nor Hero Boy as an adult as the former did not appear while the latter had no lines outside the film scenes.
- Jim was born in the same year as Salvador Delgado and Krzysztof Dracz, both of whom, coincidentally, dubbed the Conductor in the Latin American and Polish dubs of the film respectively.
