"Santa Claus is Comin' to Town" is a popular Christmas song written by John Frederick Coots and Haven Gillespie with its earliest performances dating back to 1934. Frank Sinatra did a cover version in 1948, which is featured in the film The Polar Express and as the eighth track on its official soundtrack. The elves, children and Conductor sing the first verse right before Santa Claus shows up at the North Pole Square, then Frank Sinatra's cover starts plays over the loudspeakers as everyone cheers for Santa. It is heard up until Hero Boy gets ahold of the silver bell that fell off the reindeer's harness.
Lyrics[]
- You better watch out, you better not cry
- You better not pout, I'm telling you why
- Santa Claus is comin' to town
- He's making a list, checking it twice
- He's gonna find out who's naughty or nice
- Santa Claus is comin' to town
- He sees you when you're sleeping
- He knows when you're awake
- He knows if you've been bad or good
- So be good for goodness sake
- Oh, you better watch out, you better not cry
- You better not pout, I'm telling you why
- Santa Claus is comin' to town
- (instrumental break)
- Say, you better watch out, you better not cry
- You better not pout, I'm telling you why
- Santa Claus is comin' to town
- He's making a list and he's checking it twice
- He's gonna find out who's been naughty or nice
- Santa Claus is comin' to town
- He sees you when you're sleeping
- He knows when you're awake
- He knows if you've been bad or good
- So be good for goodness sake
- Oh, you better watch out, you better not cry
- You better not pout, I'm telling you why
- Santa Claus is comin' to town
